Description: Adapted. Clumping. Towering bamboo with thick, straight culms; lush green foliage, known for elegant form; low-branching habit. Culms can reach 4in diameter. Best in full sun with consistent irrigation, though it will tolerate light shade. Moderate drought tolerance once established, especially in deeper soils. Winter mulch. Not well suited to containers due to eventual height, mass, and moisture needs. Responds well to pruning for thinning or maintaining size. Strong vertical presence ideal for privacy walls, windbreaks, or architectural accents in large landscapes.
