Description: Rare, adapted. Upright, slightly recurved green leaves marked by pronounced bud imprinting; lined with small teeth; dark terminal spine. Loose, open rosette. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) and produces occasional offsets. Flower spike, at 10-15 years, may reach 12-15 feet tall. Pale yellow blooms attract pollinators. Well adapted to heat and seasonal drought but benefits from afternoon shade especially in reflected sites. Protect during prolonged cold; wet periods. Ideal for collectors or as a subtle focal point in xeric plantings.
