Light Requirement: Sun to Partial Shade
Water Need: Very Low
Cold Hardiness: Zone 8 (10 to 15F) to 11 (above 40F)
Description: Adapted. Unique long, narrow, green to blue-green, stiff; needle-like leaves. No teeth on leaf edges but sharp terminal spine. Dense spherical rosette. More loose and open than Agave stricta. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) and rarely offsets; may produce seed. Flower spike, at 10-15 years, can reach 10-12 feet. Purplish flowers attract pollinators. Ideal for containers, especially in courtyards or patios; small footprint and slow growth make it manageable and long-lasting.
