Description: Cultivar. Broad, upright blue-green leaves edged in wide yellow margins; tipped with a short, sharp spine. Margins are gently scalloped with minimal teeth. Symmetrical, compact rosette. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) and produces occasional offsets. Flower spike, at 10-15 years, can reach 10-12 feet tall. Yellow blooms attract pollinators. Tolerant of heat and drought but benefits from afternoon shade in hot; highly reflective sites. Best with well-drained soil and benefits from winter protection in colder zones. Ideal for containers, borders, or colorful focal points in xeric gardens.
