Monocarpic (dies after flowering) but offsets freely to form attractive clusters. Flower spike, at 10-15 years, can reach 10-14 feet tall. Yellow to greenish blooms attract pollinators. Exceptionally tolerant of cold; drought; surprisingly adaptable to warmer climates if planted in very well-drained soil. Protect from heavy winter rain. Ideal for dryland gardens, rock landscapes, and xeric plantings where resilience and structure are needed.
