Description: Adapted. Coarse-textured, blue-gray leaves edged with large, widely spaced teeth; stout terminal spine. Leaves are thick and rough. Broad, upright rosette. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) and may produce occasional offsets. Flower spike, at 10-20 years, can reach 20025 feet tall. Yellow-green blooms attract pollinators. Highly heat; drought tolerant once established. Requires excellent drainage and some winter protection in cold or wet conditions. Well-suited for bold focal points in expansive xeric landscapes.
