Description: Cultivar. Short, broad blue-gray leaves; short dark spines along leaf edges; strong dark terminal spine. Dense, symmetrical rosette resembles an artichoke. Monocarpic (dies after blooming) but produces moderate offsets. Flower spike, after 10-15 years, can reach 12-18 feet tall. Yellow blooms attract pollinators. Tolerant of heat; drought but benefits from afternoon shade in hot; highly reflective sites. Compact form offers strong architectural interest in small-scale plantings. Monrovia premium brand.
